The Bangladesh Trade Portal (BTP) is an official source of all regulatory information relevant to traders who wish to import goods into Bangladesh or export to other countries. The Ministry of Commerce of the Bangladesh Government has established the Portal in order to improve the predictability and transparency of the country’s trading laws and processes.

Egypt: The Egyptian Standard ES 1903 " Powdered Sugar (icing sugar)"

Starch.This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 248/2025 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 1903 "PowderedSugar (icing sugar)" (10 pages, Arabic).It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 130 /2005 (11 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/1 dated 14 December 2005, mandated among others the earlier version of this Egyptian Standard.Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with Codex Standard CXS 212 "Sugars", adopted in 1999, amended in 2001, 2019 and 2022.Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.Date of adoption: 11 August 2025.Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.Agency or authority designated to handle comments and text available from:National Enquiry Point Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality 16 Tadreeb El-Modarrebeen St., Ameriya, Cairo – EgyptE-mail: eos@idsc.net.egeos.tbt@eos.org.egWebsite: http://www.eos.org.egTel : + (202) 22845528 Fax : + (202) 22845504
