Jute Ordinance 1962

The ordinance has been published on 10^th September, 1963 on the additional publication of Pakistan Gazette and, later on 6^th April, 1983 on Bangladesh Gazette. 

The ordinance outlines the regulatory policy of the entire Jute value chain starting from cultivation, production, manufacturing to distribution and export.

It dictates the role of the government in jute and jute related products manufacturing. The regulatory policies regarding to license issuance has been explained in multiple sections and in relevant sub-sections. The ordinance structures the applicable penalties for relevant breaches of policy. At the same time, it obliterates few policies which seemed less relevant in the then context of the industry.
