Attached is the Export Policy 2024-27 published on 15 October 2024 . This is one of the important Trade Instruments and has the following important features:
Increased Focus on Technology and Innovation: Promotes investment in digitalization and technology upgrades which fosters research and development (R&D) in key sectors to drive product innovation and higher value-added exports​.
Compliance with International Standards: Ensuring global quality standards, including certifications and compliance with WTO and international trade norms.
Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Export Processing Zones (EPZs): Prioritized to provide tailored infrastructure and services for export industries, especially in non-traditional sectors like pharmaceuticals and electronics​.
Post-LDC Graduation Strategy: With the anticipated graduation from LDC status in 2026, the policy includes a detailed strategy to mitigate the loss of trade privileges, such as duty-free market access, and to develop alternative competitive advantages through Bilateral and Multilateral Trade Agreements.
