Participation in International Trade Fair held in China:

To explore market of our products in China, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) organized Bangladesh participation in the following fairs during 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 :

(1)     ‘China International Footwear Fair’, during 06-08 Sept, 2011 in Shanghai, China.

(2)     Shoe & Leather fair-2011, Guangzhou, China (01-03 June 2012).

(3)     Shoe & Leather Fair-2013, Guangzhou, China (May 29-31,2013).

(4)     China South Asia Expo, Kunming, China (June 06-10, 2013).

(5)     Shoe & Leather Fair-2014, Guangzhou (May 28-30, 2014).

(6)     China South Asia Expo, Kunming, China (June 06-10, 2014).

Suggestions :

Since Bangladesh has been suffering from a continuous trade imbalance over the years, Bangladesh may request the Chinese Govt. to consider the following issues in order to trim down the existing trade imbalance between the two countries:

1. To narrow down the massive trade imbalance, Chinese authority may be requested to grant us duty free market access for all Bangladeshi products;
2. Considering the importance of the Chinese market, Chinese Authority should give us assistances including free space to participate in the different International Trade Fairs held in different states of China from time to time;
3. Chinese investors may be persuaded to set up Joint Venture Industries in the field of Leather goods including shoe, IT, Light engineering, Agro-processing foods, Shipbuilding, High value added textile products;
4. Trade delegation from important Chamber of Commerce and Association from Bangladesh should frequently visit China and meet their counterparts for assessing demand, price and quality of products having export potential;
5. Bangladesh may request Chinese authority to set up a design institute in leather sector.
6. Bangladesh may request Chinese authority for technical and financial support to set up a fashion design institute for RMG.
