The three-day ‘US Trade Show’ began from last Thursday at a Dhaka hotel.
This was the 24th edition of the annual event that aims at promoting economic ties between the US and Bangladesh, the US embassy says.
The US Embassy is partnering with the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh to organise the trade show at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.
The event hosted booths from 100 US businesses, showcasing American products and services available in Bangladesh.
The embassy expected that the show would attract over 10,000 participants to demonstrate the United States’ “commitment to deepening and broadening” the US-Bangladesh business relationship.
“The US Trade Show highlights the great American products available in Bangladesh and the strong partnership between US and Bangladeshi businesses,” Ambassador Marcia Bernicat said in a statement.
“We are delighted that bilateral trade in goods reached nearly $7 billion in 2015 and believe this event will help increase our trade,” she said.
