| Products covered: Fish and fishery Products (ICS 67.120.30)This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 57/2026 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 1521 for "Canned Finfish "(13 pages, in Arabic).It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No.515/2005 (10 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/2 dated 14 December 2005 and the Ministerial Decree No. 1001/2017 (2 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/2/Add.2 dated 10 January 2018, mandated among others the earlier versions of this standard and the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/2/Add.32 dated 1 July 2025.Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with Codex Standard 119 – 1981 (CXS 119- 1981) "Canned finfish", adopted in 1981, revised in 1995, amended in 2011, 2013, 2016, 2018 and 2024.Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.Date of adoption: 22 February 2026Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.Agency or authority designated to handle comments and text available from:National Enquiry PointEgyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality16 Tadreeb El-Modarrebeen St., Ameriya, Cairo - EgyptE-mail: eos@eos.net.eg/eos.tbt@eos.org.egWebsite: http://www.eos.org.egTel: + (202) 22845528Fax: + (202) 22845504 |
