This standard specifies the essential requirements and methods of test for soft candy. This includes technical requirements for different types of soft candy i.e. soft candy, soft dairy or milk candy, toffee, marshmallow, gummies and jelly candy along with their ingredients; guideline for food additives and food preservatives used for the product; hygienic and legal requirements; and the packaging and marking provision for the product. Various food safety parameters (e.g. heavy metals and microbiological limits) have been proposed. |
