This document specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, and marking of automatic welding filters.

This document applies to automatic welding filters mounted on welding protective equipment, designed to protect the eyes and face from ultraviolet, visible or infrared radiation during welding, grinding and other processes. 

This document does not apply to laser welding operations.
